IMD Weather Update: Delhi’s AQI In ‘Very Poor’ Category, Check Forecast For Other Regions

Delhi will have mainly clear sky today with maximum temperature of 34°C and minimum temperature of 20°C. No other warning has been issued for Delhi.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It has also issued heavy rainfall warning for Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam today. After the retreat of southwest monsoon which brought heavy rain to the subcontinent, occurrence of Cyclone Dana which largely affected Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal, IMD has now issued that there will be no significant weather activity likely over any part of the country during next one week.

IMD said that during past 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal was recorded.

It informed that the well-marked Low pressure area over north Odisha weakened into a low pressure area on 26th October and it became less marked on 27th October. The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to middle tropospheric levels lies over the same region.

Northern states in the country are witnessing slight drop in temperatures as the season is in transition. Layer of smog is reported from parts of the national capital.

Minimum And Maximum Temperature Departures

As of 27th October, minimum temperatures are markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Haryana- Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal.

The lowest minimum temperature of 15.5°C was reported at Adampur (Punjab) and maximum temperature of 40.8°C was reported at Kandla (Saurashtra and Kutch) yesterday.

Maximum temperatures are markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Jammu- Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, East Rajasthan, Gujarat state, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal etc.

Delhi will have mainly clear sky today with maximum temperature of 34°C and minimum temperature of 20°C. No other warning has been issued for Delhi. As per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the AIR Quality Index in Delhi stood at 356 which falls under ‘Very Poor’ on 27th October. According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the real-time Air Quality Index in Delhi stands at 330. The current concentration of PM2.5 in New Delhi is 174 (µg/m³).
