IMD Weather LIVE Updates: In a detailed forecast, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds across several states of the country. Meanwhile, after the early onset of monsoon, rain lashed parts of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. On the other hand, the Weather Body forecasted more rain accompanied by gusty winds over northwest India during the next 3-4 days, with peak activity on 2nd and 3rd June.

Those planning a trip to Uttarakhand during the 2nd to 4th June and over Punjab, Haryana on 3rd June must reconsider their plans as intense downpour is expected during these days. The other affected places include Assam, Meghalaya on 2nd-3rd June; Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura on 2nd; Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Odisha during 2nd to 4th; Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan during 2nd-5th June. Travelers and commuters can expect potential delays and road disruptions in these regions.

In its latest press release, the Met Department said, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.”
