IMD Weather LIVE Update: Heavy rain lashed East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Coastal Karnataka over the past 24 hours. The incessant showers triggered severe flooding in several areas of West Bengal’s Paschim Medinipur. Amid the intensified monsoon activity, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for multiple states. In its latest press release dated July 12, the Met Department forecast a continued wet spell across Northeast, Central, West, and Northwest India.

The IMD has warned of extreme weather conditions in the coming days. Citizens can expect increased disruptions in daily activities, along with potential traffic delays due to rain. Additionally, residents are urged to remain cautious, as this year’s rainfall has been uneven but intense. Due to looming western disturbances and cyclonic circulations, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in the following regions:

Rajasthan: July 13–16

Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh: July 14–16

Himachal Pradesh: July 13–18

Uttarakhand: July 13–18

Punjab: July 16

Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi: July 14

West Uttar Pradesh: July 13, 16 & 17

East Uttar Pradesh: July 14–17

Other areas likely to experience torrential rainfall until next week include Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the rainy spell will continue over the national capital until July 18. In its latest press release dated July 12, the Weather Department stated that the skies will mostly remain cloudy, with the city expected to receive very light to light showers accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
