Himachal Pradesh: Congress leader  and Former MLA Bambar Thakur injured in firing in Bilaspur; PSO injured

Bilaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Dhawan said two other people, including his Personal Security Officer (PSO), were also injured in the attack.

Congress leader and former MLA Bambar Thakur was attacked by unidentified people at his residence. Thakur was injured during an alleged firing incident in the Bilaspur district.

Bilaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Dhawan said two other people, including his Personal Security Officer (PSO), were also injured in the attack. 

The SP said, “Thakur’s PSO Sanjay was referred to AIIMS, and Ex MLA at IGMC Bilaspur.”

According to reports, four men opened fire on Thakur when he was sitting in his courtyard. An eyewitness recounted the incident, saying around 12 bullets were fired by the assailants. The gunman fled to the market side. 

Dhwan said that a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. Barricades have been raised at important locations. He said that the accused will be arrested soon. 

Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu spoke to Bambar Thakur and urged him to take treatment at AIIMS, but he wished to go IGMC Shimla. I have given direction to trace the culprits behind the shooting incident.
