Several parts of Navi Mumbai on Tuesday experienced waterlogging after the city witnessed heavy rainfall. Commuters and office goers witnessed traffic snarls in different parts of the city.
The Indian Meterological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Raigad, Thane and Ratnagiri districts.

Flight operations were also affected due to heavy rainfalls. Many subways were closed. IndiGo airline issued an advisory on X: “There’s a heavy downpour over #Mumbai at the moment, causing some temporary disruption to flight schedules. If you are travelling today, please be aware of potential delays and allow additional time for your journey, especially with traffic moving slower than usual. We’re monitoring the situation closely and will get you airborne as soon as possible. Please check your flight status at http://bit.ly/31paVKQ or our app before leaving. Your comfort and safety remain our top priority. Thank you for your understanding.”

The Mumbai traffic police has also alerted citizens and shared information on its social media account on X. The Mumbai traffic police wrote on X, “Due to 2 feet of water accumulation, the Andheri Subway in Andheri West, Mumbai, has been closed to traffic and has been diverted via Gokhale Bridge.”

The IMD department has already issued an orange alert for Pune and Satara. The weathermen predicted heavy rainfall with thunder in the city.
