Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Polling for the 90 seats in the Haryana Assembly wrapped up at 6 pm on October 5, with results scheduled to be announced on October 8. Haryana reported an overall voter turnout of 61% in the state.
After the voting concluded, majority exit polls predicted Congress to reclaim power in Haryana. In contrast, the Indian National Congress (INC), striving for a comeback after a decade in opposition, is anticipated to win between 44 to 54 seats in the state. Other key contenders include the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), and Azad Samaj Party (ASP).

With a 61% voter turnout, Yamunanagar recorded the highest voting percentage of 56.79%. Mewat was leading with the second position with 56.59%.
Among the other districts with the lowest voter turnout were Panchkula (42.60%), Gurgaon (38.61%), and Sonipat (45.86%).
Haryana now prepares for a dramatic show-down with a diverse array of candidates including Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Former CM of Haryana Bhupinder Singh Hooda and notable figures like Vinesh Phogat.
As the Haryana Assembly elections proceed, the state recorded a 49.13% voter turnout across its 90 assembly seats as of 3 PM. It recorded a 54.30% voter turnout in its ongoing Assembly elections by 4 pm.
After casting his vote in Rohtak, Congress leader Bhupinder Hooda expressed confidence, stating, “Congress is forming the government in Haryana, and BJP is on its way out.”
As many as 1,031 candidates are contesting across 90 assembly constituencies. Out of these – 930 are males, 101 are females and 464 are independent candidates.
Meanwhile, Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir took place in three phases 18 September, 25 September, and 1 October. The results of both Haryana and J&K will be declared on October 8.
