The Noida authority intends to build a 35-kilometer passageway to reduce expressway traffic burdens because it predicts an upcoming surge of traffic after Noida International Airport in Jewar launches in May. Leaders at the board meeting took this decision on Friday according to an official statement. The Yamuna embankment parallel eight-lane stretch will become the new 35km road if authorities conclude it has better feasibility compared to the six-lane Kalindi Kunj barrage to Yamuna Expressway elevated road, as per media reports.
As quoted by Hindustan Times, the General Manager of Noida Authority, Vijay Rawal mentioned that “Once the detailed project report (DPR) is finalised, we will decide whether to make a six-lane elevated road or an eight-lane road.”
The Noida authority under chairman Manoj Kumar Singh who holds the role of Uttar Pradesh chief secretary initiated an order for the Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway industrial development authorities to unite their funding for this project. The Noida authority must select an expert agency that will create the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Multiple state support for road projects is necessary for NHAI to endorse them and this is why the three authorities have formed a funding partnership. A meeting between officials from all three authorities is scheduled to take place to determine the project sequence and steps.

The authorities will establish a special purpose vehicle (SPV) instead of assigning final expert agency responsibilities to an industrial body for project completion. The approved decision will drive the expert agency to create the DPR while also delivering suggestions for financial strategy. The connection at Pari Chowk intersection of Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida will help create better travel routes between Delhi and Agra.
Before this, the Noida authority considered implementing a highway extension between Noida and Greater Noida and Delhi. The November 2023 35km elevated road proposal which ran along the Yamuna embankment received rejection from NHAI based on information from sources.
