After this shocking Meghalaya Murder Case, another tragic incident took place in Goa, where a boyfriend killed his girlfriend.
What could have been the beginning of a new life turned out to be a tragic end for 22-year-old Roshni Moses. Her body was found in a dense forest in South Goa earlier this week. She had come to Goa from Bengaluru with her longtime boyfriend, Sanjay Kevin, to get married. But allegedly, after a heated argument, Sanjay killed her, as reported by News X.
The couple, hailing from north Bengaluru, were in a relationship for nearly five years. Police say that the two left for Goa last weekend without informing their families to convert their love affair into marriage. But everything changed on the way. Police suspect that during the journey, the two had a quarrel which took a dangerous turn. On Sunday, the two got off the bus in the Piliam-Dharbandora area.
It is alleged that Sanjay took Roshni to a deserted forest and slit her throat with a knife and fled after leaving her there. The next morning, her body was found by locals in Pratapnagar. A purse found near the spot and a bus ticket kept in it became the first clue that led the police to get to the bottom of the case.
By evening, a lookout notice and her photograph were issued, following which she was identified as Roshni Moses. Once she was identified, the police started piecing together the events – a girl who believed in her love died at the hands of the same person.
News X quoted South Goa SP Tikam Singh Verma saying that “Sanjay has been arrested from Hubballi in Karnataka within 24 hours of the incident. The two were in a long-term relationship, but the real reason behind the murder is still under investigation.”
For Roshni’s family, this news is nothing short of a tragic nightmare. According to her friends, she was a very calm and polite person, who had dreams of a better future in her eyes, which now remain unfulfilled.
This incident once again highlights the truth that incidents of violence against women are increasing even in consensual relationships.
Even though Sanjay is now in police custody and will be charged with murder, Roshni’s untimely death has left a scar that will linger in society for a long time – a reminder that even relationships masked by love can sometimes lead to death.
