AQI Improves In Delhi-NCR: GRAP 3 Restrictions Lifted; These Vehicles Can Operate From Today

After the restrictions which come under the stage 1 and 2 of the GRAP will remain in effect. Stage 3 of the GRAP was imposed on Saturday, January 3, 2025.

As the air quality in the Delhi-NCR region saw little improvement, the Commission for Air Quality Management has revoked the third stage of the Graded Response Action Plan.

After the restrictions which come under the stage 1 and 2 of the GRAP will remain in effect. Stage 3 of the GRAP was imposed on Saturday, January 3, 2025. These restrictions were put in the region to tackle with the pollution level in Delhi-NCR.

The air quality of the national capital remained in the very poor category for the third consecutive day. This was recorded on Sunday, January 5. The overall AQI in the region was recorded as 377 at 7 am amid low visibility due to fog, according to the Central Pollution Control Board. The process to revoke the third stage on Sunday was initiated after seeing the improvement in air quality of Delhi-NCR.

GRAP stages are imposed based on AQI level. There are four stages of GRAP. Previously the third stage of GRAP was lifted on December 27, 2024. Under stage three of the GRAP BS-4 diesel cars and BS-3 petrol cars can now travel in the region.
