Businessman Gopal Khemka Murder Case: Key Accused Vikas Alias Raja Shot Dead In Police Encounter In Bihar

The accused, Vikas aka Raja was shot dead near Damaiya ghat around 2.45 am. Police recovered one pistol, one bullet and a cartridge from the site.

Gopal Khemka Murder Case: In a major development in the businessman and BJP leader Gopal Khemka’s murder case, the accused was killed in a police encounter on Tuesday. Bihar Police confirmed the killing in an official statement. The accused, Vikas aka Raja was shot dead near Damaiya ghat around 2.45 am. Police recovered one pistol, one bullet and a cartridge from the site. He is also believed to have been involved in the manufacturing and selling of illegal weapons.

Bihar Police stated that his body has been sent to Nalanda Medical College, Patna, for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, JD(U) leader Rajeev Ranjan, in conversation with ANI, reacted to the killing of the accused in Khemka’s murder case. He asserted that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is monitoring the whole incident.

Ranjan said, “As per the information we have received, Police have killed an accused in the Khemka murder case who tried to attack police. Nitish Kumar ji is monitoring every incident.”

Gopal Khemka was killed on July 4, Friday night outside his residence in Patna. The incident, which occurred near the Gandhi Maidan South area around 11 pm, sent shockwaves across Bihar. He had suffered bullet injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A bullet and a shell casing were recovered by the police from the crime scene. Khemka, who lived in the Twin Tower society, was on his way home when he was shot by an unidentified assailant.

Who Was Gopal Khemka?

Gopal Khemka was a renowned businessman from Bihar and the owner of Magadh Hospital. He is said to have been associated with many social organisations. In 2018, his son Gunjan was also shot dead in the Hajipur industrial area, in a brazen crime.
