After a delay of nearly eight months, the construction of the long-awaited Bandikui-Jaipur Expressway is now complete. The expressway is around 67 km long and has been designed in such a way that a journey from Bandikui to Jaipur can now be done in just 30 minutes. The project has cost around Rs 1,368 crore and is a four-lane access-controlled highway on which vehicles can run at a speed of 120 kmph.
The route is spread almost equally across two districts, with 32.7 km in Dausa district and 34.1 km in Jaipur district. A total of five toll plazas have been built, and a virtual plaza has also been added at Shyamsinghpura. Car drivers will have to pay a fee of around ₹150 for a one-way trip, according to a Magic Bricks report.
Although the project was originally scheduled to be completed by November 2024, it was delayed due to various reasons. Now the entire construction work is over, and the necessary road safety audit has also been done. The date of inauguration is not yet decided, as it is awaiting the approval of the Union Road Transport Ministry.
It is expected that this expressway will open for the general public by June 2025. With its opening, not only will the journey between Bandikui and Jaipur become much easier and faster, but connectivity to Delhi-NCR will also improve. This new corridor will start from Bagrana on the Jaipur-Agra Road and will allow those going towards Delhi to reach their destination in just two and a half to three hours.
