Uttar Pradesh’s BJP unit issued a show cause notice to BJP MLA Rajiv Singh Parichha from Babina in connection with a viral video showing his aides allegedly thrashing a passenger on the Vande Bharat train went viral on social media.
According to the Indo-Asian News Service, the UP BJP took the matter as gross indiscipline and asked the Babina MLA to respond to it within seven days with a written explanation.
UP BJP general secretary Deep Narayan Shukla told the news agency that the leader’s act falls under serious indiscipline, and he has been asked to submit a written explanation within a week.

The incident occurred on June 19 when a passenger refused to exchange his seat with the BJP MLA. He got offended, and when the train reached Virangana Lakshmibai station, a group of men, who were said to be his close aides, entered the coach and brutally thrashed him.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also shared the incident on his X account while slamming the ruling party. He wrote on X, “No need to use a telescope, videos of the so-called virtuous character of BJP supporters are widely available.”

All opposition parties took a notice of the incident and condemned the incident while hitting out at the Ministry of Railways and ruling BJP. Netizens also questioned about the safety of passengers in trains.
