The Andhra Pradesh High Court On Thursday gave temporary relief to former Andhra Pradesh CM and YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy in connection with the death of a party worker during the Rentapalla tour incident.
HC directed the police not to take any coercive action
While hearing the quash petition filed by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Andhra Pradesh High Court adjourned the hearing to Tuesday and directed the police not to take any coercive action until then.
The high court raised a serious question, asking how cases can be registered against those inside the car when the incident pertains to a road accident.
Jagan, other accused filed pleas seeking quashing of FIR
The petition seeks the quashing of the FIR registered over the unfortunate death of party worker Cheeli Singaiah. Along with YS Jagan, other accused in the case have also filed similar petitions.
The High Court’s interim order provides temporary relief by restraining the police from initiating hasty or vindictive actions until further hearing, the YSRCP said.

The victim was fatally struck by Jagan’s bulletproof vehicle during a recent visit to Rentapalla village in Guntur district. The incident has attracted significant public attention and sparked controversy.
Police seized the vehicle
On Tuesday evening, police seized the vehicle involved in the incident as part of the ongoing investigation. The party, however, maintains that the case is politically motivated and has sought legal recourse to have the charges quashed.
Meanwhile, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has upped the ante against the NDA coalition government and has called for a five-week programme called ‘Recalling Chandrababu’s Manifesto’ during which the Party would reach out to the people with election promises of the coalition and highlight its failure in keeping them up.
