Andhra Teen Delivers Baby In School Bathroom; Newborn Dies

In a tragic incident at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Kothapatanam, Andhra Pradesh, a 16-year-old student gave birth in the school bathroom, but the newborn died shortly after birth. The student, who had recently joined the school on June 19, had been attending classes regularly and was a resident of Cheemakurthi mandal.

On Wednesday, the student, who had been experiencing labor pains for several hours, went to the bathroom during school hours to give birth. She did not inform anyone about her condition, and the school authorities and teachers were unaware of her pregnancy.

After the student failed to return to class for an extended period, her classmates and teachers went to check on her. They discovered her in a critical state in the bathroom and immediately sought medical assistance. The student was transported to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, where she is currently receiving treatment.
