A man has been arrested in YSR Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh on charges of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl. This occurred during a family wedding in a village when the girl, who was playing outside, was allegedly lured by Rahamatulla using a banana, who then took the girl to an isolated location.
After her family looked for her unsuccessfully, the family found her lifeless body in a bush. Villagers detained Rahamatulla and called the police. The investigation is still ongoing.
In another incident in Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh, four children died after being stuck inside a parked car. The four children had been invited to the wedding when they went to play near the marriage venue. Five children, including the deceased, went outside to play in the morning. The four children got into an unlocked parked car beside the women’s community office.
While they were inside, the car door locked by accident. There was no alternative ventilation, which caused the children to die by suffocation. The dead children were Uday (8), Charumati (8), Charishma (6), and Manaswini. The parents apparently looked for them all day long and only found them still in the car after many hours.
Andhra Pradesh MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas’ visit to the village indicated that the children were playing and entered the car. He verified that the government would support the affected families and recommended that parents take more care in public settings to avoid similar situations.
