Air India Flight Lands In Canada After Hoax Bomb Threat, 5 Indian Flights Targeted

This incident occurred just a day after a similar bomb scare on Monday, where three international flights from Mumbai were targeted

On Tuesday, five Indian flights were grounded after receiving bomb threats, which later turned out to be hoaxes. The flights affected included the Delhi-Chicago Air India flight, the Jaipur-Bengaluru Air India Express, the Dammam-Lucknow IndiGo flight, the Darbhanga-Mumbai SpiceJet flight, and the Siliguri-Bengaluru Akasa Air flight.

Bomb Threats Issued via X Handle

The threats were made via a social media account on X (formerly Twitter), targeting four flights: Air India Express (IX765) from Jaipur to Bengaluru via Ayodhya, SpiceJet (SG116) from Darbhanga to Mumbai, Akasa Air (QP1373) from Siliguri to Bengaluru, and Air India (AI127) from Delhi to Chicago. The threats were publicly directed at the airlines and police authorities through posts on X.

Security Checks and Precautionary Measures

Security agencies conducted thorough checks in response to the threats. The Delhi-Chicago flight was diverted to Canada for security screening, while the Air India Express flight underwent inspection at Ayodhya airport. The SpiceJet and Akasa Air flights landed safely, with all necessary security protocols followed.
