Panic ensues as an elephant suddenly runs during Ahmedabad’s 148th chariot festival. In the famous 148th chariot festival of Ahmedabad city, the elephants are always the centre of attraction. This time, a total of 16 elephants arrived for the chariot festival, and one male elephant suddenly started running due to a mental imbalance, causing panic among the crowd around.
Immediately after the incident, the police arrived on the scene, bringing people to a safe distance and controlling the situation. Some people were lucky to avoid getting caught in the stampede caused by the elephant’s run, but this incident once again highlighted the importance of safety during the chariot festival.
The police and organizers have appealed to everyone to remain vigilant in such crowded places and to follow safety regulations. The organizers of the chariot festival are investigating the incident and trying to find out the reasons behind the elephant’s sudden run. For now, the elephant is under the supervision of the forest department and doctors.

In the Skanda Purana, it is mentioned that no festival of Lord Jagannath is more important than that of the Shree Gundicha Yatra.
