After the obscene video of BJP leader Manohar Dhakad from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, went viral, another alleged video has surfaced claiming him dancing with the same woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The footages quickly spread online and led to their arrest under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). They were booked under Sections 296 (obscene acts), 285 (causing danger or obstruction on public roads or navigational routes), and 3(5) (joint criminal liability) of the BNS.
Reports now suggest that the BJP leader was being blackmailed for a sum of Rs 80,000, with individuals allegedly linked to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contractors suspected of leaking the video.
Who Is Allegedly Behind Video Leak- And Why?
MKC Infrastructure Company has terminated three employees for allegedly leaking the videos; the highway road construction company holds a contract with the NHAI. After securing bail, Manohar Dhakad said that the individuals involved had demanded Rs 1 lakh to keep the video from being made public. “I had Rs 20,000 in cash, which I gave them,” he said. “There were about half a dozen people. When the deal got stuck at Rs 80,000, one of them uploaded the video on social media and made it viral.”
Got Bail Within 24 Hours
The charges against Manohar Lal Dhakad were relatively weak, allowing him to secure bail within 24 hours. After the video leakage incident, the National Highway Authority of India took immediate action. Three employees of MKC Infrastructure Company who have the contract with the NHAI have been dismissed for leaking videos.
Two Videos Went Viral
Manohar Dhakad was caught on video with a woman on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on May 13. He was arrested on May 25 but later released. After a video showing him in an objectionable situation with a woman in a public place surfaced, another video of the BJP leader dancing following the incident emerged two days later.
After a video of him being found in an objectionable condition with his female friend in a public place surfaced, society also shunned him, and he was removed from the post of National Minister of the Youth Association of Dhakad Samaj. Meanwhile, the BJP says that the person seen in the video is not a primary member of the party.
