Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, starring Akshay Kumar, has hit the theatres with a strong start. It is a historical courtroom drama which is set against the backdrop of Jallianwala Bagh and the legal fight that followed.
The film is on the life of C Sankaran Nair, a lawyer who challenged the Britishers in court after the massacre. The role of British officer Brigadier General Reginald Dyer who was leading the massacre was played in the film by British actor Simon Paisley Day.

Who Is Simon Paisley Day?
Simon Paisley Day is a popular British actor who has a career of over 30 years and has been a part of theater, television, radio, and film. He began with stage performances in plays like Oscar Wilde and Shakespeare before moving to TV.
Some of his famous screen appearances include roles in Doctor Who, The Musketeers, and Netflix’s The Crown. He is also featured in films like Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Victoria & Abdul, and Brexit: The Uncivil War.
Kesari Chapter 2 marks his Bollywood debut, where he plays the controversial role of General Dyer, the man behind the brutal firing at Jallianwala Bagh.
The film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire, directed by Karan Singh Tyagi starring Akshay Kumar as C Sankaran Nair, Ananya Panday as Dilreet Gill and R Madhavan as Neville McKinley. It released in theatres on April 18.
