Varun Dhawan is reportedly set to take a major heroic role in the much- anticipated, Sunny Deol starrer film, Border 2. While the actor is currently filming for ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ with Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde, recent reports suggest he may be seen playing a role of renowned warrior soon.
Varun To Play Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya?
As per mid-day reports, Varun Dhawan has been cast to play the role of ‘Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya’, also a Param Vir Chakra awardee, who showed immense courage during the Indo-Pak war, 1971. Later, the officer was promoted to Colonel in 1976 for his courageous service to the nation.
However, there is no official information yet, people are still excited for his character in Border 2.
Sources further reveal that Varun has been deeply involved in preparing for the role. He is working closely with costume designer Sheetal Sharma and even is trying to spend day with with Indian officers to understand their lives better.
About Border 2
Border 2, directed by Anurag Singh is bringing back Sunny Deol, who reprises his most-loved role from the original 1997 film. The sequel will also star Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. Under the production team , including Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, the film is set to hit cinemas on 23 January 2026.
