Urvashi Rautela’s ‘Temple’ Remark Sparks Backlash, Team Issues Clarification Amid Misunderstanding

Urvashi Rautela faced backlash after her claim about a temple in her name near Badrinath. Her team has now clarified that the actress never meant it was her temple, and the comments were misunderstood.

Actor Urvashi Rautela has found herself in the eye of controversy after claiming during an interview that there’s a temple in her name in Uttarakhand. Her remarks about the Urvashi Temple near Badrinath Dham, considered sacred by locals, have angered priests and residents who say the site has religious significance tied to Goddess Urvashi, not the actor.

Her team has now issued a clarification, emphasizing that she never claimed ownership of the temple, stating “Urvashi Rautela said that there is a temple in her name in Uttarakhand, not ‘Urvashi Rautela’s temple’. Now, people don’t even listen properly; just hearing ‘Urvashi’ or ‘temple’, they assume that people worship Urvashi Rautela. Please listen to the video properly before forming opinions.”

They further addressed the old nickname ‘Damdami Mai’ that students from Delhi University reportedly used for her “Urvashi said, yes, at Delhi University, she was referred to as ‘Damdami Mai’, and there’s a news article supporting this. Legal action should be taken against those who have made misleading remarks about Urvashi Rautela’s statement.”

The team warned of potential legal action and asked people to avoid making rude or baseless comments without checking facts “It is essential that, before making baseless allegations or derogatory comments against any individual, the facts are thoroughly verified. Everyone in society should treat one another with respect and understanding, so that everyone’s rights are protected.”

Actress Urvashi Rautela said in an interview that there’s a temple in Uttarakhand named after her, where people put garlands on her photos and call her ‘Damdamamai’. This upset local priests and residents, who said the temple is actually dedicated to Goddess Urvashi from Hindu mythology and is a very old and sacred place.

They found her comments disrespectful and said she should not make such claims. Some people think she was joking, but the video has gone viral and many are now asking her to say sorry.
