Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has strongly refused claims linking her to a Rs. 2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case. Reports suggested that she was to be summoned by the Puducherry Police for questioning, but Tamannaah has dismissed these allegations as ‘Fake.’ She also assured that her team is taking necessary steps to address the situation legally.
Tamannaah’s Official Statement
In an exclusive statement to News 24, Tamannaah clarified her stance:
“It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement in cryptocurrency dealings. I request my friends in the media not to spread such false, misleading reports. Meanwhile, my team is looking into the matter to initiate appropriate action.”
What Is the Cryptocurrency Scam?
Reports claim that a Puducherry resident, Ashokan, filed a complaint stating that a Coimbatore-based firm defrauded him and his 10 friends of Rs. 2.4 crore by luring them into a cryptocurrency scheme. Allegedly, Tamannaah had attended the company’s launch event in 2022, while actor Kajal Aggarwal was present at another related function in Mahabaleshwar.
Media reports suggested that the police were seeking clarification from both actors, though no official statement from the authorities has confirmed this.
