What Did Sonu Nigam Say?

During the event, Sonu Nigam criticised a fan for allegedly demanding a Kannada song in a rude manner. Sonu said,”I love Kannadigas, but the way one person kept shouting ‘Kannada, Kannada’ was rudely threatening. This kind of behaviour is the reason why things like Pahalgam happen.”

His comments sparked outrage from the Kannada community who labelled the statement as insensitive.

However, soon after the controversy erupted, Sonu Nigam apologised through a social media post, where he wrote, “Sorry Karnataka. My love for you is bigger than my ego. Love you always.”
