Shefali Jariwala’s death has left fans of the iconic ‘Kaanta Laga’ song in utter despair. The lead actress of the music video tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack on June 27, 2025, at the age of 42. Her sudden demise has shocked both fans and the entertainment industry.
Pooja Ghai, a close friend of the late Shefali Jariwala, has opened up about the actor’s final moments, shedding light on what transpired before her sudden death.
In a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Pooja told that Shefali had dinner that night and then asked her husband Parag Tyagi to take their pet dog for a walk. Parag went downstairs, but shortly after the house help called in a panicked voice that Shefali was not feeling well.
Pooja said, “What happened exactly, we will get to know after postmortem, but from what I understand, she had dinner and told Parag to take the dog for a walk. As soon as he went down, the helper at home called him and said, ‘Didi is not feeling well.’ So, she told him, ‘Could you just come up, take care of me?’”
Parag waited for the help to come down and take the dog, and then rushed back up. By the time he reached their home, Shefali was lying motionless. “Parag said that she still had a pulse. And her eyes were not opening and she just had dead weight to her body. So he immediately must have realised that something was definitely wrong. And he took her to the hospital… before she was brought in at Bellevue, she was already no more.”
However, by the time they reached Bellevue Multispecialty Hospital in Andheri, Shefali’s condition was very critical and she was not responding.

Questions are also being raised about the IV drip of Vitamin C taken by Shefali that day. Pooja confirmed that Shefali did take this drip, but she described it as normal. “On that day, she did take the vitamin C IV drip, but it’s a very normal thing to take a Vitamin C. We all take vitamin C. Post-Covid people have started taking vitamin C regularly. Some people just pop in a tablet and some people take it through IV drip. She did take IV drip on that day,” she said.
When asked if the drip was taken by Shefali a few hours before her death, Puja said she was not completely sure about it. She stated, “I am not sure about that, but the only thing that I saw was that while I was standing there the police called for the guy who gave the drip just to check what medicine she was taking, and that’s when it unfolded that she had taken an IV drip that day.”
Shefali was cremated on June 28 at the Oshiwara Hindu crematorium in the presence of her family and close industry insiders.
