Panchayat is one of the most loved shows in India and Saanvika, who a household name with her role as Rinki, the Pradhan’s daughter. Saanvika recently revealed that she declined a kissing scene initially planned for Season 4. The scene was later rewritten, and the show’s makers fully respected her decision.
In a candid chat with YouTube channel Just Too Filmy, Saanvika shared that she moved to Mumbai without telling her family and has built her career on her own terms. Talking about the kissing scene, she recalled, “In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then director Akshat talked to me. He told that in this season we have inserted a scene where Sachiv ji and Rinki will kiss. Earlier the scene was different. Both of them are in the car, she falls down and then they kiss.”
She asked for two days to consider the scene, and after thinking it through, she ultimately declined. She added, “So I said give me two days to think whether I am comfortable doing it or not. Then I thought that ‘Panchayat’ has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people. I was worried about how he would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tank scene.”

While they assured her the scene would not be shot in a vulgar way, she admitted it still felt awkward during filming. “They said that we will not shoot it in a vulgar way. But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. I became very uncomfortable, but Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable,” she said.
When asked how her family felt about it, she shared, “Till now there has been no talk with the family about this. But they understand me a lot, they are happy that I am associated with a series like ‘Panchayat’.”
