Renowned singer Udit Narayan recently found himself at the centre of controversy after a video of him kissing a female fan went viral. During a live performance, a fan approached the stage for a selfie and attempted to kiss him on the cheek. However, Udit Narayan surprised everyone by kissing her on the lips instead. The incident sparked a massive social media debate, with many criticising the veteran singer.
The controversy also drew comparisons to Mika Singh’s past, particularly his infamous birthday party incident where he kissed Rakhi Sawant without her consent, leading to a major scandal.
Mika Singh On ‘Controversy King’ Tag
Mika Singh, often referred to as the ‘Controversy King,’ addressed both his reputation and Udit Narayan’s recent incident in a conversation with Pinkvilla. He embraced the tag, saying, “Controversy only happens with big people. That’s why I like being called the ‘Controversy King.’ Look at Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan- people always wait for news about them. Among singers, I’m the only one. But now, Udit Narayan Sahab has become my ‘Jhumma Chumma’ student.”
Mika Singh further added that people tend to follow his actions. “Somewhere in his mind, Udit Narayan must have thought of my old controversy. Back then, I was just a kid. But people want to be like Mika Singh. If I build a farmhouse, they want one too. If I buy a luxury car, they want the same. That’s how it works,” he said.

Meanwhile, Udit Narayan had earlier responded to the controversy in an interview with ETimes. He made it clear that he had no regrets about the incident, stating that it was an expression of pure love between him and his fans.
