The latest promo of Bigg Boss 18 sees Karan Veer Mehra confronting Shilpa Shirodkar about their friendship, which led to Shilpa breaking down in tears. Karan also mentions that he will not let anyone take him for granted anymore, especially after all that he has done for their friendship.
The promo led to many fans pointing out how Shilpa has been the mastermind in the game, who has been using the contestants to the best of her benefit. Shilpa faced a lot of backlashing for her statement about dividing her time between Vivian Dsena and Karan Veer Mehra. She said that she supported Vivian in the first 50 days, and will now support Karan for the next 50. This did not sit well with people as well as show’s host Salman Khan, who later questioned her for the reason behind saying it. However, Shilpa could not explain it and always provided a vague reason, which often came across as manipulation. When Karan questioned her about nominating him, she was confused in her answers. Similarly, when Vivian asked her about switching sides, she said she does not know why she did it.
Strategic Alliances
Shilpa has formed strategic alliances with contestants like Karan Veer, Vivian, Chum Darang and others. In fact, she is the only contestant in her group, who has been on good terms with people from the rival team as well. Whether it was Eisha Singh or Avinash Mishra, she maintained her equation and never let it turn into fights. She also mended her differences with Shrutika Arjun, which strengthen her hold in the house. The move has often protected her from nominations, thereby extending her stay in the game.
Under-the-Radar Gameplay
She often broke down after fights, which viewers thought was to garner sympathy and shift the focus away from her own actions. Shilpa has often used her emotions to influence others. There were incidents when she denied consuming any food after Avinash Mishra refused to give her non veg. She said, âI’ll eat my medicines and die in front of him but not take the food that he gives.” Many thought that it was an over reaction, only for the camera.
