Bigg Boss 18 winner Karan Veer Mehra has responded to the heavy backlash he faced after posting a poem about the Pahalgam terror attack. Many called the video insensitive. Now, Karan has issued a clarification, saying the poem was intended to spread a message of peace, not to underestimate the tragedy.
In a statement posted on his Instagram Stories on Sunday, Karan wrote, “An eye for an eye will NOT leave the whole world blind, the last person will still have one eye, & we all know who that last person might be. But the real question is, would YOU rather break the chain of hate and make the world a better place? That’s exactly what my poem meant.”
The note further read, “My heart goes out to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the Pahalgam attack. May the perpetrators face the strongest punishment they deserve. We are not scared. We are not afraid.” Lastly, he added, “Quote Suniel Shetty sir “Agli chutti Kashmir mein (Next holiday will be in Pahalgam).””

Earlier, Karan had shared a video reciting a poem that talked about how terrorism had divided the country along religious lines and spoiled humanity. The poem sparked backlash claiming the video was insensitive at the time of grief.
On April 22, terrorists attacked tourists at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, claiming lives of 28 people and injuring several others.
