Junaid Khan Opens Up About Switching To Production: How Aamir’s Retirement Influenced His Career

Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan recently made his acting debut in Netflix’s *Maharaj*, winning praise for his heartfelt performance. Now, Junaid is venturing into movie production with *Pritam Pyaare* for Aamir Khan Productions. In a recent interview, Junaid revealed that he took up production after his father Aamir, who is considering retirement from the industry, asked him to take over.

According to the report, Junaid Khan explained why he moved into production after just one film. He said he chose this path because his father, Aamir Khan, was considering retiring from the industry. Aamir asked Junaid to take over while he planned his next steps. Junaid also shared that he had worked on the sets of ‘PK’.

He said, “After we finished filming ‘Maharaj,’ we were working on another project at Aamir Khan Productions. Kiran Rao was making ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ and Dad was talking about retiring. He told me, ‘I’m retiring, why don’t you take over?’ That’s when I decided to step in. I believe I have a good grasp of production, even though it’s one of the toughest jobs in filmmaking.”

After this Junaid shared that his parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, weren’t worried about his debut. He said they both enjoyed the film. He added, ‘Their lack of anxiety helped me a lot with the film. They both liked it. Dad liked it a lot because he’s easy to please—he goes in wanting to enjoy the movie. My mom is a bit harder to impress.’
