Why Imran Khan stopped making films
In a previous interview, actor Imran Khan told the audience about his career choices. He also opened up about detaching himself from the film industry. He said, “When Katti Batti flopped, I wanted to understand some things, so I began working backwards. What had been the biggest hits of the last two or three years? What were the films that had brought my contemporaries success? Do I like those films? Would I have said yes had they been offered to me? The answer was always no. And that clarified something for me. What I actually wanted was for the films I was in to be successful.”
While speaking with Filmfare recently, Khan shared, “I did distance myself quite a bit. While working, sometimes you form very close bonds with some people, some people are your co-workers first and you are friendly with them, but they don’t become solid friends. Those people who became friends who were and continue to be there, are a lot of directors I worked with. A lot of my industry friends who remain exactly the same even if I’m not doing their film.”
Although Netflix has not made any official announcement about the upcoming film, it will reportedly be released in 2026.
