Popular editor Shameer Muhammed, who worked in Game Changer, talked about his unpleasant experience of working with S Shankar in a recent interview. He claimed that the movie was about 7-7:5 hours long when he received it and also shared how the filmmaker would turn up 10 days after fixing one date for editing.
While speaking to Kaumudy Movies, he shared, “It was during the last six months that they came and said that I would have to stay with them for another month. I had a sketch here [Kerala], so I came at that time. When I was editing, the film was 7-7.5 hours long. I made it three and a half hours. After that, a new editor came in and shortened it to 2.5-3 hours.”
“It was a terrible experience working with Shankar for me. I went there with great excitement, but things were happening in some other world there,” he added.
Revealing more about his experience, he said, “He would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days. The same pattern continued for several days, and I ended up staying in Chennai for 300-350 days.”
Shameer further revealed that he had to leave the film. “Then I left the film. It would have been a terrible mistake if I had left ‘ARM’ and ‘Marco’ for ‘Game Changer’,” he added.
Game Changer stars Ram Charan, Kiara Advani, Anjali, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, Jayaram and Samuthirakani. The movie became a big disaster at the box office.
