Fawad Khan And Atif Aslam’s Instagram Accounts Also Get Banned Amid Tensions Between India-Pakistan

Fawad Khan and Atif Aslam's Instagram account are now banned in India post the Pahalgam terror attack.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, the tension between India and Pakistan has increased. This has also caused the Instagram account of many popular Pakistani actors and renowned YouTube channels from Pakistan being banned in India. However, many people were surprised to see that Instagram pages of Fawad Khan and singer Atif Aslam were still available. Fans of these celebrities will now be disappointed to know that their profiles are now banned in India.

The note further adds, “We received a legal request to restrict this content. We reviewed it against our policies and conducted a legal and human rights assessment. After the review, we restricted access to the content in the location where it goes against local law. You can learn more about content restrictions in our Transparency Center.”

For the unversed, both Fawad Khan and Atif Aslam enjoyed massive popularity in India. Fawad Khan’s Bollywood movies Khoobsurat, Ae Dil Hai Mushik and Kapoor & Sons were big hits. Meanwhile, Atif Aslam has been ruling the music industry in India since decades with his chartbuster songs like Pehli Nazar Mein, Piya O Re Piya, Be Intehaan, Jeena Jeena, Woh Lamhe Woh Baatein, Tere Bin, Tera Hone Laga Hoon and many more.

Earlier, Film Federations in India openly opposed the release of the film and have also warned the makers of taking action against them. While speaking to NDTV, Ashoke Pandit, President Of The Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association, said, “This incident is an act of war against the nation. This isn’t the first time…these attacks have been ongoing for 30 years. We, as a federation, have requested with folded hands to not work Pakistanis. They come up with bulls*t reasons like artist, community, but ultimately, the nation must come first. People think ‘agar mere ghar ka aadmi nahi mara toh fk it, I don’t care’, but if this film’s heroine or makers’ family members had been shot by the terrorist, they wouldn’t have worked (with Fawad).”

The ban of Instagram account of Pakistani actors and YouTube channel airing Pakistani shows took place after the terror attack in Pahalgam. The attack happened on April 22, 2025, and claimed the lives of 28 people.
