Emraan Hashmi Clarifies Rumours About Stone Pelting During Kashmir Shoot: ‘In The Final Stage…’

While the nation mourns the tragic Pahalgam attack, Emraan Hashmi has addressed rumours about stone pelting during the shoot of his film Ground Zero.

The recent terror attack in Pahalgam has shaken the entire nation, with people mourning the loss of innocent lives. Actor Emraan Hashmi has stepped forward to clarify recent rumours surrounding his film Ground Zero which was shot in Kashmir.

There were online rumours suggesting that Hashmi had faced stone pelting while shooting in the valley. These rumours started to escalate quickly quickly after the sensitive situation in the region following the attack.

To clear the air, Emraan spoke to E24 in an exclusive interview. He revealed that the stone pelting scene people are referring to was actually part of the film itself. “It was a scene from Ground Zero. We were in the final stage of shooting, and while it was something that had been heard or discussed, nothing like that actually happened in real life,” he clarified.

Arhan Bagati further explained “There was a moment when the lights went out and some local kids were playing around. They might have thrown a walnut or something on the roof. But there was no stone pelting, and Emraan wasn’t even present on the set at that moment.”

The attack took place on April 22 in the Baisaran Valley and claimed at least 28 lives and over 20 people were injured. It is being said as one of the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. The Indian government has announced a series of actions against Pakistan for including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the closure of the integrated checkpost at Attari.

About Ground Zero

‘Ground Zero’, set against the backdrop of the 2001 Parliament attack, follows a BSF officer’s pursuit of the mastermind of that attack, Terrorist Ghazi Baba, culminating in one of India’s largest anti-terror operations. The screening was attended by co-producers Arhan Bagati, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy; actors Sai Tamhankar; director Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar; as well as producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The movie is all set to hit the theaters on April 25, 2025.
