Tanushree Dutta made the headlines in 2018 after she accused actor Nana Patekar and three others of harassing and misbehaving with her in 2008 on a film set. In a new development to the case, a Mumbai court has reportedly dismissed Dutta’s plea challenging the relief granted to Nana Patekar in the harassment case she had filed against him. However, there has been reports stating that the court has dismissed sexual harassment case against the ‘Welcome’ actor. Tanushree penned a note on Instagram and called this news fake.
Tanushree wrote on Instagram, “Please do not believe any fake news! The false and malicious B Summary report was rejected by court, not my sexual harassment case against Nana Patekar. The B summary report filed by Mumbai police in 2019 was cancelled/ refused by court yesterday after months of court arguments and trials. So that basically means that sexual harassment case on Nana Patekar is still open.”
“Every year Nana’s PR team spreads this kind of false rumours about case being closed and this is also the same crying wolf again. He lost this matter in court so has resorted to spreading misinformation and gaslighting the media. Please don’t believe a pathological liar and his PR team of lies and verify facts from court. Chargesheet will be filed against Nana Patekar soon and he is aware of that. This is just fake news planted by Nana Patekars PR to misguide the media and public,” she added.

Tanushree concluded, “The original case was not even presented in court yet so how can any judge pass a verdict. The current court hearings were only on the B -Sumnary report filed by police in 2019 and the verdict is in that context. The B summary was a feeble attempt to close the case but my legal team got it thrown out and won the argument! This was a small victory for us but Nana ka soul is burning with this verdict thus the misinformation campaign. A lot of money is being pumped to create false media stories. Case against him not closed. Fact check please!”

About The Case And MeToo Allegations:
At the peak of the MeToo movement in India, Tanushree Dutta had accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of inappropriate behaviour on the sets shooting for ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ in 2008. Later in 2018, she filed an FIR at the Oshiwara Police Station in which she alleged harassment by Nana Patekar.
