New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports say that the national capital can receive light to moderate rainfall on Saturday. Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram woke up to heavy rainfall on Saturday morning.

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) said, “Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of few places of Delhi, NCR (Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Faridabad) Rewari, Bawal, Nuh (Haryana) Hapur, Gulaoti, Siyana, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahar (UP).”

The weather forecast indicates that there will be a thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain in Delhi and its adjoining areas, including Burari, Badili, Model Town, Karawal Nagar, Azadpur, Delhi University, Civil Lines, Tughlakabad, Ayanagar, Deramandi. The same conditions are expected in NCR regions like Loni Dehat, Hindon Air Force Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Gurugram, and Faridabad.

For Saturday, the IMD predicts a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain. The maximum temperature is forecasted to be around 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday, parts of the city, including Civil Lines, Laxmi Nagar, and Lajpat Nagar, experienced rainfall, and areas like Jasola and Okhla had overcast skies. The maximum temperature in the city settled at 34.3 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal, and the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius. The humidity levels ranged from 90 to 72 per cent.

On Friday, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 71, falling in the ‘satisfactory’ category, as reported by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) data. An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
