Bihar Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav escaped disaster by a whisker while delivering his speech during the “Waqf Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao” conference organized at Gandhi Maidan.
While he was addressing the crowd at the podium, a drone that was being used for coverage purposes suddenly lost its orientation and zoomed towards the podium, where it was flying directly towards him.
Taken aback, Tejashwi ducked to escape the blow, leading to brief stammering. The security officers jumped into action and confiscated the drone. No one was injured. The incident has only contributed to new fears regarding public safety as well as political rallies using drones.
Bihar Elections
With Bihar heading towards the 2025 Assembly elections, the C-Voter survey gives a strong change in the mood of the people at the right time. The survey reads humongous anti-incumbency against the present government, and people from all sections of society are expressing frustration with the state of affairs in the state under the Nitish Kumar dispensation. Increasing disillusionment is making room for fresher options in politics, and Tejashwi Yadav is the leading candidate for the role of Chief Minister.
The poll puts Tejashwi at number one in the popularity survey, an indicator of the increasing desire for change among the electorate, particularly among youth and first-time voters. His emphasis on employment, education, and welfare programs appeared to have hit a chord with large sections of society.
Interestingly, political observer Prashant Kishor also is sending ripples without being a part of mainstream electoral politics himself. His public performances and mass outreach programs have garnered attention, suggesting a possible reshuffle in Bihar’s political landscape should he throw his hat into the ring.
The overall figures present a picture of an unstable voter base seeking a change from conventional leadership. While Nitish Kumar’s long tenure has earned him respect, it appears evident that a definite majority now desires fresh energy and direction in governing the state.
With Tejashwi Yadav at the top of the preference surveys, with Prashant Kishor’s popularity burgeoning, the stage is set for a politically explosive contest in Bihar—a confrontation that could well redecide leadership in the state for years to come.
