Due to the severe flooding of the Yamuna River in Delhi, the three water treatment plants in Delhi, namely Wazirabad, Chandraval, and Okhla, were forced to shut down on Thursday.

As a result of this water scarcity, several areas in the capital have not received a single drop of water for the past three days. Since July 13th, North Delhi has been devoid of any water supply. Locations such as Civil Lines, Karol Bagh, Mukherjee Nagar, and Defense Colony are facing significant challenges in accessing water. Shipra Sharma from Kingsway Camp GTB Nagar mentioned that there has been no water supply for the past three days, and even tanker deliveries have ceased.

The reopening of the Wazirabad water treatment plant brings a sigh of relief to the residents of Delhi, who have been grappling with water shortages in recent days. This plant is one of the three main water treatment facilities in the city, and its closure had a profound impact on the water supply.
