Complaint And Arrest

Based on the footage, Devendra lodged a complaint at Sector 49 Police Station. Police quickly launched an investigation and arrested Shubham Saxena. He has been booked under sections 115(2) and 118(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertain to voluntarily causing hurt and using dangerous means, as well as relevant provisions under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Abuse Spanned Over Two Years

The student’s father revealed that Shubham had been teaching Abhinav for the past two years, during which the abuse is now believed to have been ongoing. Due to Abhinav’s inability to communicate verbally, the torment remained hidden for a long time. Devendra stated that his son would sometimes show signs of distress, but the extent of the abuse was only uncovered after viewing the CCTV footage.
