About Noida International Airport

Once all expansions are finalized, the Noida International Airport will boast an impressive six runways, positioning it as the fourth-largest airport on a global scale and the largest in Asia. An earlier proposal from 2019 had suggested the addition of two more runways, potentially bringing the total count to eight.

Notably, this airport aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions, making it a pioneering initiative in the realm of sustainable aviation. In comparison, only Chicago-O’Hare and Dallas/Fort Worth airports currently have more runways, with eight and seven respectively, while airports in Amsterdam, Boston, Denver, and Detroit each have six.

Other major airports such as Atlanta, Houston-Intercontinental, Shanghai-Pudong, and Pearson in Toronto have five runways.

As of July 2023, the Indira Gandhi International Airport holds the record for the most runways among Indian airports, with a total of four. Enthusiasm abounds among the public as they await the completion of this significant airport project.
