I congratulate the BJP for this victory and I hope they will fulfil all the promises for which people have voted them. We have done a lot of work in the field of health, education, infrastructure in the last 10 years. We will not only play the role of a constructive opposition but will also remain among the people and continue to serve them.”

LIVE 2025 Delhi Assembly Election Results: Key Constituencies & Star Candidates

Arvind Kejriwal has consistently contested from the New Delhi seat, a trend that has continued in the last three assembly elections. In the 2025 Delhi elections, the former CM is contesting against BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit. He has previously secured his wins by significant margins, including a lead of 21,687 votes in the 2020 elections. Kejriwal has centered his campaign around AAP’s welfare schemes. Here is a list of key candidates and their seats:

Malviya Nagar: In the Malviya Nagar constituency, AAP candidate Somnath Bharti will once again contest for the seat after winning the last three elections with an impressive lead over his rivals. Bharti emerged as a winner in the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections with over 50% of the vote share. BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Congress’ Jitendra Kumar Kochar are also contesting for the seat.

Bagri, who won the Delhi Municipal Corporation election from the Ram Nagar constituency in 2022, replaced Lata Sodhi, the party’s candidate for Ballimaran in 2020.

Ballimaran: The seat comes under the Chandni Chowk Lok Sabha constituency, a bastion of Muslim candidates due to its predominantly Muslim population. Imran Hussain, a well-known Muslim face and incumbent minister is contesting once again. The Congress, on the other hand, has fielded veteran leader Haroon Yusuf, who in the past has represented this constituency several times. The BJP, despite several attempts, has never managed to secure victory here. The BJP has fielded Kamal Bagri from Ballimaran.

Rohini: There will be a fierce battle between AAP and BJP for the Rohini seat. The vote margin between both parties was only around 5,000 in the 2013 and 2015 elections. Two-time BJP winner (2015 and 2020), Vijender Gupta, will contest the seat for the third time against AAP candidate Pradeep Mittal. Gupta won the seat in the 2020 elections by over 12,000 votes over AAP’s Rajesh Nama ‘Bansiwala’.

Shakur Basti: The BJP has given ticket to the chief of its Delhi Mandir Prakoshth (temple cell), Karnail Singh, to contest from the Shakur Basti constituency. He will face Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain.

Patparganj: An AAP stronghold, having been won by party veteran Manish Sisodia in the last three elections, the constituency will this time witness teacher-turned-politician Awadh Ojha contesting against BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi and Congress’ Anil Chaudhary. From 1998 to 2013, Congress dominated the constituency. In the 2020 elections, Sisodia won with 70,163 votes.

Kalkaji: This seat is a battleground for AAP, Congress, and BJP, with a fierce three-way contest. Both AAP and Congress have fielded women candidates. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Singh (AAP) is up against Congress leader Alka Lamba and BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri. The constituency has 1,94,515 voters, including 1,06,893 male voters, 87,617 female voters, and 5 transgender voters. AAP secured victories in the last two elections. In 2020, Atishi won the seat, defeating BJP’s Dharambir Singh by 11,393 votes.

Jangpura: AAP won this seat in both 2015 and 2020 with Praveen Kumar. However, this year, the party has introduced a new candidate, Manish Sisodia. He is up against Congress leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Farhad Suri. In 2020, AAP won by over 15,000 votes. Reports suggest that fielding Sisodia is part of AAP’s broader strategy to counter anti-incumbency and strengthen its position in the capital.

Okhla: Amanatullah Khan from AAP is contesting this seat for the third consecutive time. Congress has nominated Ariba Khan to challenge him. In both 2015 and 2020, Khan defeated BJP candidate Braham Singh by margins exceeding 60,000 votes.
