Delhi: Delhi is reeling under intense weather, with rain and thunderstorms over the past few weeks. The changes in weather condition have led to pleasant weather, bringing relief to residents from the heat. Rain accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds lashed the national capital on Sunday, June 1. The month started with a rainy day, and this week is likely to see more showers. Delhi is experiencing these changes due to an active western disturbance. A western disturbance, appearing as a cyclonic circulation, continues to prevail over north Pakistan, Jammu & Kashmir and north Punjab. This weather system is expected to influence the regional weather patterns in the coming days, bringing rainfall in northwest India including Delhi-NCR.

Forecast For Monday, June 2

Talking about how the weather will remain on Monday, June 2, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast indicates a rainy day. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorm. Lighting and gusty winds with speed 40-50kmph during thunderstorm have been also predicted for today. The maximum temperature is currently in the range of 37-38°C.

The rainy spell will continue through this week in the national capital. Rain accompanied by thunderstorm has predicted until Thursday, June 5. A yellow alert has been issued for June 3, as rain is expected to lash the capital. The IMD has ruled out any heatwave condition this week.

Here’s detailed weather forecast for this week (June 2-8):

June 3:  The sky will remain generally cloudy, with possibility of thunderstorm/lightning and gusty winds (speed 40-50 kmph) temporarily reaching to 60 kmph during thunderstorm. A yellow alert has been issued for the weather condition. The maximum temperature is expected to remain 37°C.

June 4:  Light rain, thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (Speed 30-40 Kmph) temporarily reaching to 50 kmph have been predicted on Wednesday. The sky will remain partly cloudy with maximum temperature at 36°C.

June 5: Thunderstorm with light rain will hit Delhi on Thursday. The maximum temperature is expected to remain 35°C.
June 6:  The weather will start changing from Friday. No rain has been predicted but the sky will remain partly cloudy. The maximum temperature will remain 38°C.

June 7: Partly cloudy sky has been predicted with no rain forecast. The maximum temperature will remain 39°C.
