Spike In Hospital Sexual Assault Cases
However, this isn’t the first instance where such an incident was reported. In a separate incident that occurred earlier this month in Delhi, a minor girl died after being sexually assaulted. Delhi Police said that she received critical injuries to her face during the assault.
In yet another similar incident that took place in April 2025 at Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital, a technician was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of an air hostess. He reportedly committed ‘digital rape’ on a 26-year-old flight steward while she was on a ventilator in the multispecialty hospital on April 6.
According to reports, the accused, identified as 25-year-old Deepak, had watched pornographic videos both before and after committing the crime. Gurugram Police said that the accused was a native of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. He joined Medanta 5 months ago after completing his bachelor’s in Operation Theatre Technology and committed ‘digital rape’ on the patient while on duty.
