Delhi Pollution: AQI Improves To ‘Moderate’, Winter Chill And Fog Lingers; Partly Cloudy Weather Predicted On…

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear weather in the national capital till the 8th of February and partly cloudy weather across the city on the 9th. Additionally, a decline in the minimum temperatures up to 01 to 03 °C was observed during the past 24 hours.

Delhi Pollution: The air quality in the national capital improved to the ‘moderate’ category on Friday after remaining in the ‘poor’ and ‘very poor’ category for the past few days. This marked a sharp decline in the pollution levels compared to the previous days. The overall AQI was recorded as 175 at 6 am on Friday, February 7, 2025, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on February 3 revoked all restrictions under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) with immediate effect.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts clear weather in the national capital till the 8th of February and partly cloudy weather across the city on the 9th. Additionally, a decline in the minimum temperatures up to 01 to 03 °C was observed during the past 24 hours. The maximum
and minimum temperatures over Delhi were recorded in the range of 22 to 25°C and 08 to 10°C respectively.

Cold Spell And Fog Forecast

IMD predicted ‘shallow fog’ over Delhi/NCR for the next three days, till February 9. Amid improved air quality, the city is currently experiencing chilly winds blowing during the early morning hours with many residents seeking refuge in night-shelter homes to stay warm.

AQI In Different Parts Of Delhi

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the following AQIs were reported in different parts of Delhi as of 6 am today: Okhla Phase 2 (171), Alipur (184), Rohini (223), ITO (144), Ashok Vihar (215), Shadipur (142), Mundka (251), Wazirpur (219), Jahangirpuri (230), Narela (193), DTU CPCB (149), R.K. Puram (375), Pusa DPCC (196) and Punjab Bagh (191).
