Delhi: A fire broke out at the Trauma Centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday at noon. The incident prompted a quick response by the Delhi fire services. At least eight fire tenders were immediately rushed to the site to douse the flames. According to officials, the blaze erupted after an electric transformer caught fire and has now been brought under control. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported so far.
Fire officer Manoj Mehlawat said, “We received information about a fire in the transformer at 3.35 pm. The fire broke out due to the heat. A total of 8 fire tenders were involved in the operation. There are no casualties. The fire has been extinguished.” As of now, no official statement has been issued by AIIMS, Delhi, regarding the incident or the damage. Further details are awaited.
