New Delhi: The Delhi Police has recovered a dead body of 19-years-old boy who was stuck in the shop during a fire broke out at Gandhi Nagar textile market of Delhi on Wednesday.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) was inspecting the incident spot on Thursday when it found the charred dead body on the second floor of a four-storey shop.

However, the police has identified the deceased as Shahnawaz who used to work at the shop.

On Wednesday evening, a massive fire broke out inside a shop in Gandhi Nagar textile market. The fire spread to the other shops within minutes.

There was no water source nearby, owing to which, the DFS rushed to the incident spot with 35 fire tenders.

Earlier, SK Dua, Dy Chief Fire Officer, Delhi Fire Service informed, “The fire was declared medium category. A total of 28 fire tenders are engaged. Fire is now under control; confined to the top floors.”
