The Delhi government has adjusted the winter vacation dates for city schools, moving them earlier due to increased pollution and poor air quality.

The Delhi government has adjusted the winter vacation dates for city schools, moving them earlier due to increased pollution and poor air quality. The break will now span from January 1 to January 6 for the academic session 2023-2024. A circular from the Directorate of Education highlighted the initial portion of the vacation, held from November 9 to November 18, aimed at safeguarding students from the adverse effects of Delhi’s poor air quality.

Originally planned from January 1 to January 15, the winter break was rescheduled due to severe pollution, with the earlier segment aimed at protecting students’ well-being. The administration has now confirmed the revised dates for the remaining part of the winter vacation. The Directorate of Education urged all school Heads to communicate these dates to teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Students will have a total of 15 days of vacation, split into two parts, to ensure their safety and well-being amidst challenging air conditions.
