CM Siddaramaiah Urges Parents To Stay Calm After Bengaluru Schools Receive Bomb Threats

After 15 schools in Bengaluru received a threatening email suggesting that there were bombs in the premises, CM Siddaramaiah assured that securitiy measures have been taken.

In response to the distressing bomb threats targeting 15 schools across Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah assured the public, “Security measures have been implemented, and there’s no cause for alarm”. He urged parents to remain calm during this period and stressed that the police have been instructed to thoroughly inspect the schools and bolster security.

“The police are conducting an investigation, as I’ve directed. Security measures have been put in place to alleviate concerns. I’ve instructed the police to intensify school inspections, and a preliminary report from the police department has been received,” remarked Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah.

According to reports, 15 schools in Karnataka received menacing emails. Dr G Parameshwara, the Karnataka Home Minister, promised strict action against those responsible. He reiterated the government’s dedication to safety and affirmed that comprehensive school inspections are being carried out as precautionary measures.

“We’ve been informed about threatening emails received by 15 schools. Similar threats were received last year too. We’re ensuring thorough school inspections and taking all necessary precautions. Stringent actions will be taken against those making threats. We’re examining every angle,” Dr G Parameshwara, Karnataka Home Minister, affirmed.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar personally visited a Bengaluru school in light of the bomb threats. He stated that he had visited some of the affected schools and engaged with police officials at Sadashiva Nagar NEV School, directing them to conduct a comprehensive investigation.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda, however, indicated that the preliminary investigation suggested the calls were likely hoaxes. “Certain schools in Bengaluru city have received emails today morning indicating ‘bomb threat’. Anti-sabotage and bomb detection squads have been pressed into service to verify and ascertain. The calls seem to be a hoax. Even then all efforts will be made to trace the culprits,” mentioned the Commissioner in a statement on X.
