In Bengaluru’s Koramangala area, a women was allegedly gangraped by four men on a hotel terrace. They reportedly gained the victim’s trust by posing as someone from her past.
A woman was Raped by four men in the Koramangala area of Bengaluru, as reported on Friday. The men tricked her by pretending to be people she knew. The crime happened on the roof of a hotel late Thursday night into Friday morning. Afterward, the men robbed the victim and forced her to leave.
The police in Koramangala have arrested three suspects named Ajit, Vishwas, and Shivu, who are from West Bengal and Uttarakhand. One suspect is still missing. The men work at a hotel in HSR Layout.
The police said they are searching for the missing suspects, and they have also filed a case of gang rape.
Sarah Fatima, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast), said the police got the information on Friday morning, around 7:30-8 am. “Four men are involved… All the necessary procedures have been completed, including those for the victim, medical exam and other procedures,” she told the media.
“The incident took place early this morning, and we will learn more details during the investigation. The preliminary investigation suggests that she had gone to meet a friend,” the officer said.
“The victim is from Delhi. She is married and settled here,” she revealed about the woman, saying she was in “good condition.”
In February 2024, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that Bengaluru had 444 rape cases between 2021 and 2023, and the number of cases was going up every year.
