An extensive array of vehicles including the Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun and Virtus have been recalled due to a prospective issue with the rear seatbelts. As per the data released by SIAM, the recall would affect the variants mentioned above that have been manufactured in India within the time period of May 24, 2024 and April 1, 2025.
As per the latest update around 25,722 Skoda units have been affected, the number includes variants of Skoda Kylaq Kushaq, and Slavia. The information has been released after an event of front-end collision. As per the official report the rear seatbelt buckle latch plate may break, or the webbing near the rear center seatbelt assembly along the buckle may fail as well. Such issues would put the passengers at risk further leading to increased exposure to injuries in the event of an accident.
Volkswagen Taigun, Virtus – 21,513 Units Affected
A similar problem has plagued the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, with a total of 21,513 affected units. The total number of affected vehicles has hence reached a total of 47,235 units. In such cases the company is expected to reach out to owners directly to fix the problem. Concerned owners can log on to the Skoda India Recall and Volkswagen Recall sites to find out whether their vehicle has been affected by the same issues. So if you own Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, Taigun, or Virtus it would be better if you were to check the authorized recall website.
