New Delhi: Tata Motors’ highly anticipated electric car, the Tata Punch EV, has been spotted again during testing, revealing new alloy wheels and interior bits. Interior-wise, the most significant change in the Punch EV is expected to be the introduction of Tata Motors’ new two-spoke steering wheel, which was first showcased with the Tata HBX concept and is likely to be featured in the upcoming facelifted Nexon as well. This steering wheel will include an illuminated logo and haptic touch controls.

In terms of features, the Punch EV is expected to come equipped with a 360-degree camera, as the images show a camera module on the wing mirror. Currently, Tata Motors offers a 360-degree camera only in the Harrier and Safari models. Additionally, the Punch EV may also feature a rotary drive selector and an electronic parking brake, similar to the Nexon EV. The testing model of the Punch EV revealed a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but the production model could potentially come with a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen.

Regarding the powertrain, the Punch EV is rumored to feature Tata Motors’ Ziptron powertrain, which includes a liquid-cooled battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor. However, detailed specifications of the battery and electric motor are yet to be revealed. The Punch EV might offer multiple battery pack options.

In the market, it will compete with the Citroen eC3, which has an ex-showroom price ranging from 11.50 lakh rupees to 12.43 lakh rupees and offers a range of up to 320 km per charge.
